wherein I will use the pun on mediocre as an excuse to abandon this page for weeks on end. Okra itself is of course a scary and slimy vegetable but happens to be the virtuous ingredient that holds gumbo together. This gumbo analogy allows me to lump whatever eclectic subjects I feel like holding forth on into these pages.
